Johns Hopkins Center for Indigenous Health has launched a podcast exploring Indigenous methodologies in public health.
“Tending Our Roots with Indigenous Methodologies” launches on Friday, May 1, with new episodes available each week. The 10-episode series is hosted by Dr. Miigis Gonzalez (Lac Courte Oreilles Ojibwe) and Dr. Jill Fish (Tuscarora Nation of the Haudenosaunee Confederacy).
Gonzalez joined the Center for Indigenous Health’s Great Lakes Hub as an Assistant Scientist in September 2021. Fish is a psychologist who focuses on Indigenous ways.
Episodes will feature guests, including artists, scholars, knowledge holders, and community leaders, who will discuss Indigenous approaches to living well, covering topics such as language revitalization, ceremony, land, creative expression, and more.
“Tending Our Roots” will be available on podcast listening platforms, including Spotify and Apple Podcasts.
