An 88-year-old woman has died after being found outside a seniors’ residence in Laval early Monday morning.

Laval police said they were called to the scene at 6:50 a.m. at 25 Promenade des Îles in the Chomedey district.

The woman was declared dead on site, outside the Villagia de l’Île Paton residence. Police said they do not yet know the circumstances surrounding her death.

A spokesperson said that the case has been transferred to the coroner’s office.

It was -18 C in Laval at 7 a.m. this morning, according to Environment Canada.
